Dr. Lauren Deason is a data scientist with over a decade of work experience in the field of data science and quantitative analytics. She is currently a data scientist at Facebook supporting the Community Integrity team. She previously worked as a data scientist on DARPA's Network Defense research program developing scalable analytics to detect malicious activity in network log data. She also worked as a research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute and as a consultant at the World Bank. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Applied Math from the University of Virginia.
